    Absolut Genius!

I am going to enjoy this one....
Not only does Absolut make one of the most famous (and tasty variations) of vodka in the WORLD, but now they have some of the hottest artists in the music business lending their talent to a brand new ad campaign to "interpret the Absolut brand through music." Lenny Kravitz is one of the first artists and one of my favorite DJs/Singers, Eric Roberson, is one of only two americans asked to remix the original song that Kravitz made for Absolut. This is such a cool concept and sooooo "today." The merging of music/alcohol has been around since liquor was created...but never has it been done so damn cool! Genius Absolut! Just Absolutly Freakin Genius!

    Lotto Schmatto!

Today is the first day of the NEW North Carolina Lottery. Although our powerball games have not started yet, they are allowing us to become brand new gambling addicts with the addition of the first games-the scratch offs. Now although I am not against having lotteries and playinhg the games, I dont plan to be one of those people who get in the habit of "tithing to the ticket," (that is the act of putting a certain percentage of your weekly/monthly/annual income towards the lottery). That is just not me and I dont believe a game of chance that COSTS me anything to play it, is actually got the CHANCE of making me richer.
I came. I bought. I scratched off. I lost. Boo.

    Manic Monday / Blogger Challenge

So, there are times where I feel like I could concentrate and almost perform surgery with my steady hand and full on concentration. But today.....was NOT one of those days. Today I feel like the poster child for ADHD. Today I feel like I could not concentrate on concentrating if my life depended on it. Today I feel like if I was manic depressive, this would be a manic stage....real manic. I really want to sit here and just stare out into space....its about the ONLY thing I CAN concentrate on. Mondays are normally rough for me but this one is off the chain. Normally, I can put on my headphones and zone out and work through the lack of attention and concentration. Uh uh...that aint happening today. But it got me thinking... On days like these, I love to listen to certain songs. On days when I am tired, I love to listen to a different set of songs. This is the same type of situation with days when I am depressed or sad. You know, there are just certain songs that hold a bit of feeling or that special "something" to get you out of whatever mood you are in (or to get INTO another mood). So here is my challenge to all my blogging friends(yes, this means you too SC!): 7 songs for 7 moods: What seven songs can define the different moods/days you can (and do) have in a week? "Reggie"(lol) has already taken my challenge (thanks for playing along buddy!) so what about you? Here are mine: When my ass is draggin the ground and I just dont feel like doing anything "Superheroes" - Esthero When I am emotional (bad) "Drown Deep" - Maxwell or "Heal Over" - KT Tunstall If my boyfriend does something dumb as hell and I am upset "Only the Lonely" - The Motels When I am in my "dont mess wit a bitch" mood "Up in here" - DMX When I am souped up on caffine, a sunny morning or just high off life "Sweetness" - Johnny Eat World When I am ready to go out and dance (also can remind me of cold winter weekend nights) "Five Fathoms "- Everything but the Girl UPDATE: When it is a MONDAY but I want it to feel like FRIDAY (at 5pm) "Cubicle" - Rinocerose (click here to see the iTunes ad using this song)

Blog it Out! (Growing list of NC Blogs)

I will be adding to this list from time to time. If you are blogging from somewhere in the gigantic state of NC, drop me a line with the info on your blog (or one that you know of from NC) and I will add it to my list! I would like to eventually have a nice little list of some of the best our state has to offer. Blogging and just reading other people's blogs has opened up a whole new world of information (and entertainment,....not always intentional..ha ha) for me and I have actually convinced several of my friends to start blogging-not always personal information but just to try it- try blogging SOMETHING. I still struggle sometimes with my need to blog and my need to be private but somehow, when its all said and done, I find a way to let the to co-exist quite nicely.

    GaGa for Gmail

The more I use my gmail the more I fall totally in love with it, (I think gmail is still by invite only - or you can sign up w/o an invite if you give them your cell phone number, so if you want an actual invite, let me know). And NOW! I find out (totally by "idiot accident") that I can view my gmail in my Outlook!! Whoa....I had a moment there... For all those out there that have gmail already and they are not sure how to incorportate gmail into Microsoft Outlook, it does have its advantages, (especially if you like to set up contacts, appointments, reminders, birthdays, etc.). Here is the best way to do it: Microsoft's Use Outlook with Google Gmail Instructions: http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/assistance/ha011488981033.aspx Google's Instructions: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13278 Happy gmailing!
